The PTI leader was brought before ATC judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain’s court, where the ATC judge released the former chief minister Pervaiz Elahi on bail in exchange for a Rs 20,000 surety bond.
Chaudhry Parvez Elahi’s involvement in the case would not be further investigated, according to Judge Zulqarnain’s decision.
In view of the accusations included in the FIR that was filed against Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in the interim, the prosecutor, Raja Naveed, underlined that he cannot be released on bail.
The court’s remark that Chaudhry Parvez Elahi’s name is absent from the FIR itself raises questions about the legitimacy of the former chief minister of Punjab’s incarceration.
Raja Naveed continued by stating that rather than a police complaint, the informant’s information was used to make the arrest.
The court decided to grant bail to Pervaiz Elahi after hearing the arguments on both sides in order to ensure transparency and for a thorough examination of the situation.
