ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has termed the decision of Afghanistan to recall its ambassador and senior diplomats from Pakistan as unfortunate and regrettable and said that the abduction and attack on the ambassador’s daughter were being investigated at the highest level.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, while expressing concern over the decision to recall the Afghan ambassador, said that he was surprised by the sudden recall of the Afghan ambassador. He said that the case of the daughter of the Afghan ambassador is registered on the directive of the Prime Minister. Pakistan is conducting a full investigation into the incident. Afghanistan must reconsider its decision.
“We expect the Afghan government to reconsider its decision,” a Foreign Office spokesman said in a statement that we consider Afghanistan’s decision to recall its ambassador and senior diplomats from Pakistan unfortunate and unfortunate.
The spokesman said that the abduction and attack on the ambassador’s daughter were being investigated at the highest level under the direction of the Prime Minister. Security has been beefed up for the ambassador, his family, and other Afghan consulate staff.
