Justice Qazi Faez Isa takes oath as Chief Justice of Pakistan

Following the retirement of Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Qazi Faez Isa took the oath necessary to become the 29th Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) on Sunday during a ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

President Arif Alvi delivered the oath of office to him. Senators, ambassadors from other countries, senior military officers, interim federal ministries, and caretaker prime minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar were present during the event.

As chief justice, Justice Isa will hold office till October 25, 2024.

He has defended clients before the Federal Shariat Court, the Supreme Court of Pakistan, and the High Courts of Pakistan for over 27 years. He became a Life Member of the Sindh High Court Bar Association, the Balochistan High Court Bar Association, and the Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association.
