Shahnawaz Dahani, a Pakistani pacer, arrived in Colombo on Thursday to join the Men in Green team for the 2023 Asia Cup.
In order to replace Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, who sustained injuries during the Green Shirts’ Super Four match against India on Monday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) summoned up Zaman Khan and Dahani.
The choice was made as a preventative measure with the World Cup in 2023 just around the horizon in mind.
Shahnawaz Dahani and Zaman Khan have been called up by Pakistan as back-ups, according to a brief announcement from the PCB.
The two were called up when Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah developed aches and pains during the game against India.

This is only a precautionary step with the players’ health and fitness in mind before the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup starts next month.
When it comes to their main pacers, Pakistan doesn’t want to take any chances before the World Cup 2023, which starts in October.
Dahani was due to arrive in Colombo yesterday, but his flight was delayed by visa complications.
Naseem, who will not participate in the Asia Cup, will depart for Pakistan later today.
The Super Four match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will take place today, with the winner heading to the final against India on September 17.

However, rain is probably going to ruin the Pakistan-Sri Lanka game and the other matches in the tournament.
