PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja announces to not take a single penny for next 3 years

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja on Wednesday stated that he will not take a salary from cricket board for next 3 years, underlining that “inning” of his career is for respect, reported to Business Recorder.
The former Pakistan captain expressed these statements at the National High-Performance Centre during a meeting with club owners under the Central Punjab Cricket Association’s authority.
His remarks came in the context of highlighting the need of focusing on local cricket in Pakistan, in which he stated that “fixing” was a danger that needed to be handled from the start.
“We need to teach in our cricketers from the start that they are ambassadors for the game,” Ramiz added. “Fixing has penetrated our cricket team and is now in our system.” As a result, it’s critical that these young cricketers are taught the value of respect.
“I paid ‘zero money’ to join the cricket board. I will not receive a rupee for the next three years.”
The chairman stated that he has given up his profession as a commentator in order to guide the cricket board on the right path and that he is playing this “innings” for respect.
Meanwhile, Ramiz commended the club runners’ efforts and vowed that the PCB will “take unprecedented measures” to help clubs around the nation.
“Thanks to your efforts, our national cricket team will become number one,” he added. “As a result, your success is also my success.”
