It further reported that a well-placed source in the university administration told The Nation that the university administration initially tried its best not to disclose the matter in order to avoid criticism of media. However, the social media pressure exposed the IIUI administration loopholes and forced it to lodge FIR.

The source revealed that the university administration had claimed to terminate the security head and some other officials, however, the administration failed to take action and terminate the security head and few other officials, added the sources.
The source further said that the security head of the university was an incompetent officer and already fired by the university administration as he was allegedly involved in harassing female students and making their videos.
As per The Nation’s Another source privy to the matter told The Nation that the university administration pressurized him not to pursue the case. The source said that videos of the victim were recorded and shared on social media by the university administration in which the victim had said that he did not want to take the case further.
The source revealed that the victim who claimed to be a student of Quaid-i-Azam University belonged to Sargodha and was taken by the university to his home in order to diffuse the tension and keep the matter secret.
Meanwhile, talking to The Nation, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad who is Associate Professor of Law at IIUI claimed that the university administration failed to handle the issue appropriately. He endorsed that the administration wanted to push the matter under the carpet and this was the reason that they registered the case almost a week after the incident, adding that IIUI administrated had completely failed to handle the issue.
It must be noted that the meetings of the Board of Governors (BoG) of IIUI headed by university Rector Dr. Masoom Yasinzai held last day had shown its satisfaction over the efforts of the university administration for rightfully handling the issue.
