The Afghan Interior Ministry says the Taliban have taken control of the Pul-e-Charkhi prison Jail in the Afghan capital, Kabul.

The Afghan Taliban are removing their comrades from the Pul-e-Charkhi prison in the capital, Kabul, the largest prison cell in Kabul.

Earlier, Arab media reported that the Taliban had seized the Sarobi district, an hour’s drive from the capital, Kabul.

Sarobi District is the first district in Kabul to fall under Taliban control.

Afghan officials and the Taliban say the Taliban have also taken control of Maidan Shar, west of Kabul, 90km from Kabul.

The Taliban also seized the provincial capital of Khost Province.

The Afghan government controls Kabul and seven of the 34 provincial capitals.

According to the foreign news agency, the Taliban have also taken control of all border crossings in Afghanistan.
