Pakistan’s cricket economy needs to boost, emphasized Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja on Tuesday, he further said that Pakistani cricket is only run by International Cricket Council (ICC) funds.

“The participation of local investors in cricket is lacking,” he said during his visit to Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

After striking the gong to open trading, he said: “Coming here [PSX] is a unique experience. My purpose to visit Karachi was to promote investment in the cricket economy.”

According to Ramiz Raja, National cricket is dependent on the ICC. “I’d like you to contribute to the improvement of cricket’s economy. Due to investment in the sport, cricket in our neighboring country has expanded by leaps and bounds.”

“We have learned two things – one, if your team is number one, other international teams will not go back, and second, if the cricket economy is excellent, the teams would not return,” the PCB chairman stated after the New Zealand and England teams canceled their tours to Pakistan.
