Former United States President Donald Trump will introduce social TRUTH, a social media app that he claims would “stand up to Big Tech” companies like Facebook and Twitter, which blocked him from using their platform, Reuter reported.
According to a press release distributed by both companies, TRUTH Social will be founded through a combination of the Trump Media and Technology Group and a special acquisition company (SPAC).
“We live in a world where the Taliban has a significant Twitter presence, but your favorite American President has been silenced.” In a written statement attached with the publication, Trump stated, “This is intolerable.”
“I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon. TMTG was founded with a mission to give a voice to all. I’m excited to soon begin sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and to fight back against Big Tech,” he stated.
As per the press statement, the social network is the first of three stages in the company’s plans, with a beta launch next month and a full launch in the first quarter of 2022. The social network will be followed by a subscription video-on-demand service called TMTG+, which will include entertainment, news, and podcasts.
The company sees competing against Amazon.com’s AWS cloud service and Google Cloud in the future, according to a PowerPoint slide on its website.
