India refuses to issue visas to Pakistani Zaireen to attend Ajmer Sharif Urs

ISLAMABAD: The Indian government has refused to issue timely visas to Pakistani pilgrims awaiting departure on Ajmer Sharif Urs.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri said that the Indian embassy asked us to be ready for departure on Urs but refused to issue visas on time as in the past.

He said that Pakistani pilgrims also followed all the instructions of the Indian government to visit the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Ajmer Chishti.
Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri termed the process of non-issuance of visas despite the implementation of conditions and SOPs as incomprehensible and said that India had hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims who wanted to visit the holy shrine of Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti.

The Minister for Religious Affairs announced that the mistreatment and treatment of Pakistani pilgrims would be taken up with India at the Foreign Ministry level.
