The Australian Cricket Board has announced an 18-member Test squad for the tour of Pakistan.
The Australian Test team will be led by Pat Cummins and Steve Smith will be the vice-captain.
Cricket Australia has announced the full strength Test squad, expressing confidence in the arrangements for the cricket series in Pakistan. No player has resigned from the series. The same players who have recently participated in the Ashes series are coming to Pakistan.
The Australian Test squad includes Cummins (capt), Agar, Boland, Carey, Green, Harris, Hazlewood, Head, Inglis, Khawaja, Labuschagne, Lyon, M Marsh, Neser, Smith, Starc, Swepson, Warner.
The squad for the three ODIs and one T20I match in the Whiteball Cricket Series will be announced later.
It may be recalled that Cricket Australia had recently confirmed the tour of Pakistan after a board meeting. The Australian team is visiting Pakistan for the first time since 1998.
Recently, the PCB announced a new schedule for the tour. The tour will now start from Pindi instead of Karachi and will end in Pindi.
The Australian team will play its first Test match in Rawalpindi from March 4 to 8. The four white-ball matches will be played in Rawalpindi instead of Lahore.
The Kangaroos will return home on April 5 after playing their last T20 International in Rawalpindi.
The second Test will be played in Karachi from March 12 to 16 and the third in Lahore from March 21 to 25.
The relocation has been made keeping in view the Pakistan Day rehearsals and logistical resources.
Both the boards have agreed that the visiting team will reach Islamabad on a chartered flight. After completing the isolation, they will be allowed to train.
