For decades, Javed Akhtar’s iconic lyrics, such as “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga” and “Yeh Kahaan Aa Gaye Hum,” have enchanted audiences. However, Pakistani actor Ahsan Khan has earned a unique honor—becoming the first actor for whom Akhtar has written a dedicated verse.
Khan recently shared the stage with the legendary Indian poet and screenwriter at the Tahbib Multilingual Festival in Dubai, an event celebrating global art and literature. On Wednesday, Khan took to Instagram to share a heartfelt behind-the-scenes moment from the festival.
In the video, Akhtar is seen penning an impromptu couplet for Khan, which reads:
“Ahsan Khan ke liye aik sher,
unka karam hai unki mohabbat,
kya mere naghmay, kya meri hasti.
Dua goh, Javed Akhtar.”
The heartwarming moment was captured as Akhtar wrote in a notebook while Khan enjoyed tea nearby. Fans flooded the comments with admiration, with one remarking, “Wow… only in Dubai can Indian and Pakistani stars meet,” accompanied by heart emojis.
Both Akhtar and Khan were in the UAE for the Tahbib Multilingual Festival, held from December 1–3, which celebrates language, culture, and diversity. Khan’s video also highlighted moments from his Dubai trip, including boarding his flight and participating in discussions on the cultural significance of music, art, and cinema.
Javed Akhtar remains a towering figure in Indian lyricism, music, and screenwriting, and his gesture further showcased the unifying power of art across borders.
