Australia Crushes India to Level Series in Dominant Display

Australia made a powerful comeback in the second day-night Test in Adelaide, defeating India by 10 wickets within three days to level the five-match series 1-1.

After dismissing India for a modest 175 in their second innings, Australia required just 19 runs to seal victory. The hosts chased the target with ease on Sunday, finishing the India vs Australia clash in style without losing a wicket.

India began the day at 128-5 but suffered a collapse as Rishabh Pant was dismissed in the first over, caught by Steve Smith off Mitchell Starc, leaving his overnight score of 28 unchanged.

Pat Cummins was exceptional, dismantling India’s lower order with figures of 5-57. He removed Ravichandran Ashwin (7), gloved to Alex Carey, and Harshit Rana (0), caught by Usman Khawaja at gully. Nitish Kumar Reddy offered some resistance with a gritty 42 before being caught in the deep by Nathan McSweeney off Scott Boland. Boland wrapped up the innings by dismissing Mohammed Siraj (7), ending with figures of 3-51.

Earlier, Australia had bowled India out for 180 in the first innings, thanks to Mitchell Starc’s six-wicket haul. Travis Head’s explosive 140 then propelled Australia to a commanding 337, giving them a vital 157-run lead in the Australia versus India contest.

India’s first Test victory in Perth by 295 runs set the tone, but Australia’s emphatic performance in Adelaide has brought the series back to life. As cricket fans eagerly await the third match, the live cricket action between these two powerhouses continues to thrill.
