Ex-ISI Chief Faiz Hameed charged for Political Involvement and Abuse of Power: ISPR

Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hameed has been officially charged with several offences, including involvement in political activities and breaching the Official Secrets Act, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday. These violations are said to have jeopardized state security and interests. Additional charges include misuse of authority and government resources, as well as causing wrongful harm to individuals.

The Pakistan Army initiated the field general court-martial (FGCM) process against Lt Gen (Retd) Hamid, former chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), under the provisions of the Pakistan Army Act on August 12.

The ISPR’s statement outlined the charges, which include engaging in political activities, violating the Official Secrets Act, misusing authority and government resources, and causing wrongful losses to individuals.
