In a recent interview with BBC, Mahira shared the emotional toll the incident took on her. She recalled reading an article that speculated on her fall from grace after the photos went viral, which led her to wonder, “Is my career over?”
She revealed, “I wouldn’t get out of bed, I was crying daily, it affected my professional and personal life. A lot happened on my side.”

She also clarified that while rumors of a romance between her and Ranbir Kapoor began after they met at an event in Dubai, neither actor confirmed the relationship, and the speculation eventually faded.
