A young man from Kahror Pakka falsely reported his cousin’s forced marriage after discovering she was marrying someone else, a police spokesperson revealed on Wednesday.
“The individual claimed the girl was being married against her will,” stated the spokesperson.

Further investigation revealed that the marriage had taken place with the girl’s full consent. The man had called the police helpline, 15, to file the false report, the spokesperson confirmed.
The suspect, who reportedly wanted to marry his cousin himself, has been arrested. A case has been registered against him under the Telegraph Act, according to the police.
