According to News, the blast took place inside a madrassa in Dir Colony area of ​​Peshawar when a large number of children were receiving religious education. The blast was so loud that its sound could be heard far away.

Initially, the locals rushed the injured to a nearby hospital. Still, as soon as the incident was reported, a large number of rescue workers besides police and security forces rushed to the spot.

The injured have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. Medical personnel have confirmed the deaths of seven people while medical aid is being provided to 70 injured.

The dead included five children who were studying at the madrassa. Police say the explosives were placed in a bag, which was left by a man. AIG Shafqat Malik told media that 5kg of explosives were used in the blast, which was linked to a time device.
