India beat Australia by three wickets in the fourth Test to win the four-match series 2-1. The Australian bowlers failed to defend the big target and the Indians played well in the second innings. Shubman Gul scored 91 runs and Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten 89.
Australia had given India a target of 328 runs, India’s Shubman Gill scored 91, and Pujara 56 runs in the innings. India’s wicketkeeper Pant’s batting played an important role in the victory. Australia scored 369 in the first innings and 294 in the second innings. India scored 336 in the first innings and won the second innings by 329 for seven.
It may be recalled that captain Virat Kohli returned home after the first Test match due to the birth of a child, while after the second Test match, Amish Yadav and Mohammad Shami were ruled out of the series due to injuries. It should be noted that this victory is also very important in the sense that India is the first team after a long period of 32 years to defeat Australia in the stronghold of Brisbane as Australia last lost on this field in 1988 ۔
