NATO officials say foreign troops in Afghanistan will remain in Afghanistan beyond the May deadline.

Speaking to a foreign news agency, NATO officials said that the complete withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan could not occur by the end of April because withdrawal conditions had not been met. Now, the new US administration would change its Afghan policy. It will also consider moving out, perhaps to come up with a better evacuation strategy.

According to NATO officials, the withdrawal from Afghanistan will also be discussed at the NATO summit in February.

Under the Trump administration and the Taliban agreement. The withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan is due to be completed by May this year. There are about 10,000 NATO troops in Afghanistan, including US troops.
