The United States has said they will remove Yemen’s Houthi rebels from the list of terrorist organizations.
According to a Pentagon spokesman, US Secretary of State Anthony Blankenship’s move on the Houthis has informed Congress that the decision has been made on “purely humanitarian grounds”.
He said the United States would continue to support Saudi Arabia in defending rebel attacks on Saudi soil.
Former United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has listed Houthi rebels as terrorists for supporting Iran before leaving office.
