National cricket team captain Babar Azam became the fourth Pakistani batsman to reach the number one position in the ICC.
Before Babar Azam, Zaheer Abbas, Javed Miandad, and Muhammad Yusuf have won these awards.
It should be noted that 18 years after 2003, no national cricketer has been able to claim this award.
Earlier, Zaheer Abbas had secured the number one position in the world rankings after playing an unbeaten inning of 103 runs against New Zealand in the 1983 World Cup, then Javed Miandad scored 103 runs against Sri Lanka in the 1987 World Cup.
18 years ago, Mohammad Yousuf scored 60 runs in the home series against South Africa and took the first position in the ICC ODI International Rankings.
