Before attending the Turkish peace conference, the Afghan Taliban demanded the United States.

According to Afghan media reports, the Taliban has asked the United States to ensure the release of its prisoners and the lifting of UN sanctions on Taliban leaders in exchange for attending the Turkish conference.

The UN-sponsored Afghan peace conference was scheduled for April 24 in Turkey but has been postponed until after Eid al-Fitr due to the Taliban’s absence.

On the other hand, Mohammad Omar Daudzai, special adviser to the Afghan president for Pakistan, has said that it is good that the release of 7,000 Taliban prisoners is made conditional on a ceasefire and that they are released if they accept the ceasefire.

According to Daudzai, high-level Pakistani military and political delegation is scheduled to visit Kabul today.

During the visit, talks will be held to improve bilateral relations between the two countries.
