Washington: US President Joe Biden in a meeting with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has assured cooperation and all possible assistance even after the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan.

According to the International News Agency, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani arrived in Washington with Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the head of the Reconciliation Council, to meet with his US counterpart, where he visited Capitol Hill and the Pentagon, during which Secretary of Defense, Speaker Nancy Pelosi And members of Congress met.

After the meetings, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani arrived in the White House and met with US President Joe Biden. The two leaders discussed the situation following the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan and the transition of power.

During the meeting, US President Joe Biden assured the continuation of military and economic assistance to Afghanistan and said that the partnership between the United States and Afghanistan will not end but will continue.

On the occasion, the Afghan president thanked the US President for his reassurance and said that he respects President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw US troops from Afghanistan and the Americans who have sacrificed their lives in the war on terror in Afghanistan.

Addressing Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, President Biden said, “We stand with you, but the leaders of Afghanistan have to decide their own future.” Violence in Afghanistan must end at all costs.
