Bombings in Afghanistan’s Kunar, Kandahar, and Jalalabad provinces have killed five people, including a police commander, and injured 15 others.
The Afghan Interior Ministry says a car bomb blast in Kandahar Province injured 12 policemen at 11 a.m. today at a checkpoint in Kandahar’s Arghandab district.
According to Afghan media, three civilians were injured in an explosion in Jalalabad this morning. A police vehicle was targeted in the blast but the personnel remained safe.
A bomb blast in Kunar province last night also targeted a police vehicle, killing five people, including a police commander.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Defense claimed that 16 members of the Taliban Red Unit were killed in an airstrike on the outskirts of Helmand Province yesterday.
