ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) sealed Centaurus Mall in a late-night raid,

The development came hours after a heated discussion between Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during their visit to Mangala. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif did not allow the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to speak during his speech.

Reports said that a team of CDA officials and the local police raided the Centaurus Mall and evicted the management staff as well as the guards after which the building was sealed.

CDA said the property has been sealed for ‘illegal use’.

Earlier in October, the mall had caught fire for unknown reasons but a spokesperson for the AJK PM blamed the federal government for the fire in Centaurus Shopping Mall, which is owned by AJK PM Sardar Tanveer Ilyas.

Speaking to reporters, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister’s Spokesperson Raja Usman claimed that the fire in Centaurus Mall was deliberately set because the federal government is targeting political revenge in light of the political situation.

He claimed that the federal government wanted to make it a bigger incident than the Model Town fire, accusing Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah of being involved in the Islamabad shopping mall fire.
