Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood has said that if the number of corona cases in the country does not decrease then the schools will remain closed. If the corona cases continue to increase so fast then the option of promoting students in the next classes without examinations remains. According to the details, the Federal Minister of Education has said that the shadow of Corona is hovering in the schools due to examinations and if the situation worsens from Corona, anything is possible. In this situation, if the increasing number of Corona cases does not decrease, schools There is an option to keep more closed.
It may be recalled that due to the increase in Corona cases in the country, 15-day holidays have been announced in Lahore and other major cities of Punjab and educational institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood has said that Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, and Multan. Holidays are being announced in Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Gujarat from March 15 during which schools will remain closed till March 28, while educational institutions in Islamabad will also remain closed for these 15 days.
It has been reported that a meeting of the NCOC was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister Asad Umar, in which the ministers of all the provinces participated through video link. The meeting reviewed the situation of Corona in the country. After the meeting, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood briefed the media and said that due to the increase in Corona cases, 15-day holidays are announced in some other cities of Punjab including Lahore but the schools in which examinations are being held. They will continue, the ban will not apply to the exams, while the matriculation and intermediate exams will be on time.
He said that educational institutions in Peshawar and Muzaffarabad, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, would also be closed from March 15 to 28. The ban would apply to all educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, but in the remaining districts and cities, 50 percent of schools would be closed.
The process will continue, as usual, however, the school may be closed wherever the situation worsens, for which the NCOC will review the situation again and again for 2 weeks. Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood said that the situation in Sindh and Balochistan is almost normal so 50% of children in these provinces will be allowed to come to educational institutions daily but there are problems in Punjab, Azad Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
