Federal Govt announces Eid-ul-Fitr Holidays from 31st March

The Federal government of Pakistan announced on Wednesday a three-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr.

The official notification issued by Cabinet Secretariat stated, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved March 31 to April 2 (Monday to Wednesday) as public holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and zonal committees will meet on Sunday evening, March 30, to sight the Shawwal moon, which will determine the end of Ramadan.

The meeting will be held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, where religious scholars, meteorologists, and other experts will review moon sighting reports from across the country.

Earlier, the Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) predicted that Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan is likely to be on March 31, 2025.
