Protests against the death of 22-year-old Mehsa Amini in police custody continue in Iran, while Fayza Hashemi Rafsanjani, the daughter of the former Iranian president, has been arrested in the capital Tehran for supporting these protests.
The police have accused the daughter of the former president that her statements are inciting riots in the country.
According to a foreign news agency report, Fayza Hashemi Rafsanjani is an activist for women’s rights in Iran and has been jailed several times for criticizing government policies.
It should be noted that Hashemi Rafsanjani was the fourth president of Iran, he was elected twice in 1989 and 1993.
On the other hand, 76 people have been killed and hundreds injured in the ongoing protests in Iran, while the protests have spread to more than 80 cities.
