In welcome news, the federal government on Wednesday announced that it is going to restart the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme.
This announcement was made on Wednesday by Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Youth Affairs Shaza Fatima Khawaja, who was addressing a press conference along with Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb.
Maryam Aurangzeb said that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had launched the Prime Minister Youth Program (PMYP) in 2013, adding that after coming to power, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif started working to revive it.
She said that a loan scheme is also being revived under the PMYP under which loans will be provided to more than fifty million youth between the ages of fifteen and twenty-nine years.
Talking about the youth laptop scheme, Shaza Fatima said that it is also being revived.
“Laptops will be distributed to one lakh high achievers this year. Fifty percent will be women, while transgenders will also be accommodated.
SAPM further said that the quota of Balochistan has also been doubled in this scheme, and Prime Minister Shehbaz will start this scheme soon.
