The United Kingdom (UK) government has declared Hassan Nawaz, son of PML-N President and former premier, Nawaz Sharif as a ‘tax defaulter’.
The announcement was made public on the government’s official website, listing him among individuals with outstanding tax liabilities.

Hassan Nawaz, son of the PML-N chief, failed to pay £9.4 million in taxes for the fiscal year 2015-16, resulting in a £5.3 million penalty.
UK authorities have listed him among deliberate tax defaulters, with a total outstanding amount of £14.7 million.
Legal experts say that even though he declared bankruptcy a few months ago, the penalty may still be recovered, as UK law does not waive tax fraud fines.
The development in case comes after an accountability court in Islamabad acquitted Hassan and his brother, Hussain Nawaz, in major corruption cases, including Avenfield, Flagship, and Al-Azizia references. The court had granted them bail last year after they surrendered.
