Thailand has announced strict measures against Pakistani travelers caught using fake documents, as reported on Wednesday.

The Thai Consulate in Karachi has introduced new travel guidelines, mandating the submission of original and verifiable documents, such as genuine airline tickets and hotel bookings, for e-visa applications. The consulate emphasized that any applicants or travel agents found submitting forged documents will face blacklisting and other strict penalties.

This decision follows past incidents involving fake travel documents. In October last year, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration team at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport arrested two passengers attempting to travel abroad with counterfeit visas.

The suspects, Nazar Abbas and Umme Salma, were caught carrying fake visas—one bound for Iraq with a counterfeit Iraqi visa and the other for the Turks and Caicos Islands with a fraudulent Cuban visa. The FIA spokesperson confirmed that their travel was successfully thwarted during the operation.
