Riyadh: Houthi rebels have attacked Saudi Arabia’s Abha airport with an explosive drone, injuring eight people.
According to Al-Arabiya News, Abha airport was attacked by an explosive-laden drone, 8 people were injured in the attack and the plane was also damaged. Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for the drone strike.
A Coalition spokesman claimed that a drone had been destroyed in mid-air by the defense air force, but that some people had been injured by the drone’s parts and explosives.
In the pictures that went viral on social media, it can be seen that at least two drones were attacked at the airport in which the plane was also damaged and the passengers are also seen injured.
It should be noted that Houthi rebels from Yemen have carried out several attacks on Abha Airport in the last two years in which a total of 4 people were killed and more than 30 were injured.
