Dubai: Indian media claims that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved a hybrid model for the Champions Trophy.

According to Indian media, the Pakistan team will not travel to India for the 2026 T20 World Cup. The 2025 Champions Trophy matches will be played in Pakistan and Dubai.

The ICC have agreed to hold the matches of Pakistan vs India in Dubai , while the Pakistan vs. India match in the 2026 T20 World Cup will take place in Colombo.

Indian media also reports that the PCB will not receive any financial compensation for this agreement. The Champions Trophy matches will be held at three venues in Pakistan and in Dubai for the India matches.

Pakistan will also host the 2027 ICC Women’s Tournament.

On the other hand, Special Representative for Sports, Shahid Hashmi, stated that according to his sources, the agreement has not yet been finalized as Pakistan is demanding financial compensation for the expenses incurred. They are seeking reimbursement for the costs they have borne.

He also mentioned that Indian broadcasters are demanding that the tournament be held in T20 format instead of 50 overs, as there is limited time and it will be challenging to make the necessary arrangements.
