Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday extended the physical remand of eight accused persons for two days in the Minar-e-Pakistan case, including the colleague of TikToker Ayesha Akram.
Three additional suspects who were arrested by the police the day before were also given new physical remand by the judge.
Lorry Adda police stood trial with all eleven suspects, requesting their physical remand.
The suspects’ detention was necessary, according to the investigating officer, to obtain recordings and photographs from their electronic devices.
The police were granted physical remand of the suspects for two days by Judge Hassan Sarfraz Cheema.
Parents and family members of the accused gathered outside of the court and conducted a protest against the police for allegedly detaining their children without justification.
