The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has formally requested the UAE to extradite property tycoon Malik Riaz and his son Ali Malik under international anti-money laundering laws and the Vienna Convention.
The agency has refuted claims that Malik Riaz was not implicated in corruption in the UK’s Royal Court of Justice ruling on the Al Qadir Trust case. According to UK law, both individuals are allegedly linked to corruption and financial misconduct associated with Bahria Town, as reported by a news daily.

The UK Home Office had revoked their visas after reviewing the National Crime Agency’s 2019 settlement with Riaz, Supreme Court judgments in Bahria Town cases, a JIT report on illicit transactions, and a NAB reference filed in April 2019.
Earlier this month, NAB issued a statement confirming its decision to extradite Riaz and warned investors against his UAE-based enterprise called Bahria Town Dubai.
The property magnate, who launched a $20 billion real estate venture in Dubai in 2018, is currently believed to be residing there to allegedly evade legal action in Pakistan.
