Karachi: Funding for the terrorist organization ISIS has been revealed from Karachi. According to CTD sources, the Counter-Terrorism Department registered the case after a forensic report. Omar bin Khalid was arrested from Tariq Road in December 2020 and was released on personal bail as there was no evidence against the accused. Two mobile phones were seized from the possession of the accused Umar bin Khalid and sent for forensics. The digital forensic report found evidence against the accused and his accomplices on which the accomplices Junaid, Zia, and Owais were also named in the case.

The suspects were in contact with ISIS terrorists and their families in Syria and Pakistan and were funding ISIS through various means. Which were being used in terrorist activities in Syria and possibly Pakistan, with Omar in custody. The accused named in the case will be arrested soon.

On the other hand, the Sindh High Court issued notices to the Home Department, DG Rangers, IG Sindh, SSP CTD, SSP CIA, SHO Ferozeabad, and others on the request for recovery of Omar. Moreover, a two-judge bench headed by Justice Nematullah Phalphoto heard the petition of mother Tayyaba Khalid for the recovery of Omar, a student of NED University.

Petitioner’s counsel took the position that Muhammad Omar was picked up from PECHS on December 17. Furthermore, police mobile footage is stored in the cameras. Omar has nothing to do with any political party. After hearing the position, the court issued notices to Sindh Home Department, IG Sindh, DG Rangers, SSP CTD, SSP CIA, SHO Ferozeabad, and others seeking a reply.
