Netanyahu Warns Lebanon of Potential “Destruction and Suffering” Similar to Gaza if Hezbollah Isn’t Opposed

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a stark warning to the people of Lebanon, stating that their country could face the same level of “destruction and suffering” as Gaza if they do not resist Hezbollah. In a video message on Tuesday, Netanyahu urged the Lebanese population to “free” Lebanon from Hezbollah, warning of a prolonged war if they fail to act.

“You have an opportunity to save Lebanon before it plunges into the abyss of a long war that will bring destruction and suffering like we see in Gaza,” Netanyahu said. His comments sparked widespread backlash on social media, with many accusing Israel of being responsible for the war and the attacks on Lebanon.

Since September 23, Israeli strikes on Lebanon have killed over 1,200 people, wounded more than 3,600, and displaced 1.2 million. These attacks have resulted in more than 2,100 deaths and over 10,000 injuries since October 7 last year. Meanwhile, in Gaza, Israel’s military operations have claimed the lives of nearly 42,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, with nearly 100,000 wounded.

Concerns are rising that Israel’s aggression towards both Lebanon and Palestine could escalate into a broader regional conflict. Netanyahu urged the Lebanese people to stand against Hezbollah, claiming that the militant group uses densely populated areas to fight Israel, risking further devastation to the country.
