Nusrat Javed Reveals Donald Trump Might Tweet About Imran Khan

Senior journalist Nusrat Javed recently revealed on the Public TV program that sources close to him suggest that United States President-elect Donald Trump “might tweet about Imran Khan in the future.” Javed shared that a member of the overseas PTI community, Sajjad Barki from Texas, who recently met with Trump, could be the link between the two figures.

Javed explained, “A well-informed diplomat told me that a high-ranking government official had mentioned a meeting between Sajjad Barki, a prominent PTI leader, and Donald Trump.”

Program analyst Adnan Haider questioned the significance of the meeting, asking, “What’s the big deal about that? It’s just a meeting.” Javed responded, “The real news is that Donald Trump might make a post on X (formerly Twitter), and it’s clear that this post will likely be about one person.”

It’s worth noting that on April 25, 2024, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) officially appointed Sajjad Barki as the Secretary of Organizations for the International Chapter (OIC). The announcement was made on PTI’s official X page, confirming the appointment “as per the instructions of Imran Khan.”

Javed also added that Sajjad Barki had allegedly informed PTI leadership about his meeting with Trump, reassuring them that everything was fine.

Interestingly, since Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 Presidential election, PTI has pinned high hopes on him to help revive the party, even as they continue to face challenges. Ironically, PTI previously blamed the US for conspiring against their government when Imran Khan was ousted via a no-confidence motion in 2022. Khan even waved a document—allegedly the “cypher”—during a rally, claiming it was sent by Pakistan’s ambassador in Washington, indicating US involvement in his removal from office.

In August 2023, The Intercept, a US-based news outlet, published what it claimed was the “cypher,” suggesting that the US administration sought Khan’s removal. However, Khan and PTI later changed their narrative, while the American-Pakistani community lobbied US politicians to pressure the Pakistani government to release Khan.

Additionally, PTI’s overseas leadership endorsed Donald Trump during the recent election, criticizing the Biden-Harris administration for not addressing their concerns.
