PCB Chairman Discusses Cricket Development with Saudi Officials
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently met with Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation Chairman Prince Saud bin Mishal Al-Saud in Riyadh to discuss cricket promotion and player development in Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, Naqvi extended an invitation for Prince Saud to visit Pakistan and witness the ICC Champions Trophy 2024 matches. He also offered comprehensive support for cricket development in the kingdom, including stadium construction and coaching programs.
Naqvi proposed a player exchange program, suggesting that emerging Saudi players train in Pakistan under the guidance of experienced Pakistani coaches. “Saudi Arabia is like a second home for Pakistanis, and we are eager to collaborate on cricket promotion,” he said.
Prince Saud bin Mishal expressed enthusiasm for working closely with the PCB, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s efforts to develop cricket, with a pool of approximately 18,000 players and the national team’s victory in the Asian Cricket Council Challenge Cup.
Additionally, Naqvi held discussions with Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Sports Minister Badr bin Abdul Rahman Al Qadi on cricket promotion, player training, and infrastructure development. He also invited the Deputy Sports Minister to attend the Champions Trophy matches in Pakistan.
