Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced plans to open two weekly flights to Australia, cutting travel time to and from the country by roughly one-third, according to The News.
According to PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez, if it happens (flights to Australia by a Pakistani carrier), it will be the first time ever. He stated that PIA conducted a feasibility study, which concluded that it would be beneficial to the airline.
Flights could begin in late March or early April, if all goes well, according to the national carrier. The airline, however, has yet to be approved by Australia’s aviation authority.
