PSL Draft to Be Held in Gwadar for the First Time

The 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will see Gwadar, Balochistan, host the Player Draft for the first time.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that the draft ceremony, marking the beginning of the league’s festivities, will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2025. The specific timing of the event will be shared later.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed, “Gwadar, with its stunning coastline and strategic significance, is at the core of Pakistan’s economic future. By holding the HBL PSL Player Draft here, we aim to emphasize its cultural and economic importance.”

He added, “We are excited to welcome all the franchises and stakeholders to the beautiful city of Gwadar on January 11, as we take a significant step towards the 10th edition of Pakistan’s premier sporting event.”

PSL CEO Salman Naseer said, “Announcing Gwadar as the host city for the Player Draft fills me with pride. This decision reflects our dedication to expanding the PSL’s reach to all corners of Pakistan and promoting the country’s beauty on the global stage.”

The PCB has not yet revealed the time and venue for the opening ceremony, while player relegation and retention details will be announced in late December.
