The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday allowed the PTI to get access to the accounts-related documents of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The ECP in a written decision said that PTI along with a team of experts can review the accounts documents of both PPP and PML-N for duration of eight days. While accepting the plea of petitioner and State Minister Farrukh Habib, the ECP in its decision said that the petitioner is bound to provide the names of technical and financial experts within five days, saying that DG Law and secretary will supervise the entire process of review of documents.
It is worth mentioning here that the PTI leader and Minister of State for Information Farrukh Habib had submitted the plea with ECP seeking access to the accounts documents PPP and PML-N.
While talking to media after the hearing, Farrukh Habib said that the decision of ECP was a big defeat for PPP and PML-N, saying that PML-N had hid 12 and PPP hid 7 bank accounts from ECP.
