Aleksander Egrov, a Russian national hunted a Kashmir Markhor Conservancy in the Lower Chitral district.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday the horn size of an eight-year-old goat was 36 inches.
It stated that every year four hunting permits of Markhor were sold on open bidding process in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the statement, 80% of the bid income went to the local people of Chitral and Kohistan to enlist their assistance in animal conservation and provide economic and social incentives.
The statement claimed that all attempts are being made to hunt the adult male animal since it has enormous horns and harvesting such older animals does not impair the population’s reproductive ability on the one hand while also providing a valuable prize for the hunter on the other.
The wildlife agency made history earlier this year when it sold four licenses for a total of $575,500 (about Rs101.929 million).
The record highest trophy hunting permit of markhor fetched $160,250 (equivalent to Rs28.362m) and the second-highest permit was sold for $155,100 (equivalent to Rs27.470m).
Three hunters have hunted their trophies in Chitral and Kohistan districts out of a total of four permits sold for this year.
