Thailand Introduces E-Visa Service for Pakistan to Simplify Travel

The Thai government has launched an e-visa service in Pakistan, aiming to streamline the visa application process for travelers heading to Thailand.

Known for its rich history, beautiful beaches, and vibrant culture, Thailand remains a popular destination for tourists worldwide. Citizens of several countries, including Pakistan, are required to obtain a visa for tourism purposes.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad announced that from January 1, 2025, foreign nationals residing in Pakistan and Afghanistan must apply for Thai visas through a new online e-visa platform.

In a statement, the embassy confirmed that applicants will no longer need to submit their passports and original documents in person at the embassy. However, online payment options are currently unavailable, requiring applicants to make payments at the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad.

Once an e-visa application is approved, a confirmation email will be sent to the applicant. This email must be printed and presented at the airport during departure and to Thai immigration officials upon arrival.

The embassy will continue to accept in-person visa applications until December 24, 2024. It also clarified that applicants must currently reside in a country where the e-visa service is available and cannot apply while in Thailand.

For travelers from Pakistan, this development simplifies the process, making it more convenient to visit Thailand starting next year.
