The ICC and the Kiwi Cricket Board could not help but admire Fawad Alam’s determination. When the middle-order batsmen came to the wicket for batting in the Mount Maunganui Test, the Pakistani team was in dire straits. But during the 102-run innings, he continued to resist on the crease for 396 minutes.
Two photos of Fawad Alam have been shared on social media by the ICC, one is from 2009 when he scored a century on his debut, the other is the Maunganui Test in which he played a three-figure inning 11 years later. A caption was also written that he never gave up. The host Kiwi Board also congratulated him on his century and wrote that he was very skilled and dedicated to batting 236 balls and 396 minutes.
