Schools and universities from primary to the middle class will open on 1st February.
The NCOC has confirmed the decision to open educational institutions in the second phase. Schools and universities across the country from primary to the middle class will reopen on 1st February 1. 50% of students from Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore, and Peshawar will come to institutions. According to details, a morning session of the National Command and Operations Center was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister Asad Umar.
The situation of covid across the country and the opening of educational institutions including vaccination procedures were reviewed. Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood, Ministry of Health, and other senior officials, Health Secretary Amir Khawaja, and representatives of the four provinces participated through video link. A briefing on the second wave was given at the meeting.
The NCOC confirmed the decision to open educational institutions in the second phase and allowed the opening of universities on 1st February. Primary and middle classes will also open in February.
Special Assistant for Health Faisal Sultan said that like the first wave of Covid, people still need caution. China has donated 500,000 covid vaccines to the government. The vaccines obtained from official sources will be provided free of cost. More than 4 lacs health workers have been registered in the database. Similarly, citizens will reach the vaccination center on time along with their identity cards and PIN codes. At the Vaccine Center, the administration will verify the citizen’s ID card and PIN code. Citizens will be vaccinated after verification of registration. Dashboards will be set up automatically at the federal, provincial, and district health department levels.
