The New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) is on track to become Pakistan’s first and South Asia’s second-largest airport.
After being inaugurated by Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in March of this year, the project is scheduled to be completed next year.
With 3,700 acres of land, Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport is currently the largest airport, while Gawadar will take up 4,300 acres.
With 5,100 acres of land, India’s Indira Gandhi Delhi Airport holds the title of South Asia’s largest airport.
NGIA will be Pakistan’s second facility to handle large aircraft, including the Airbus A380, the world’s largest passenger airliner.
