The second wave of covid intensified in Pakistan where 58 more people died in just one day due to the global epidemic. In the last 24 hours, another 1,853 people were confirmed to be covid.


According to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the total number of deaths from the covid in the country has reached 9,874. The highest number of deaths due to covid in Pakistan has been reported in Punjab province where 3,900 people have died, the number in Sindh province has been reported as 3,469 while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province 1,602 deaths have been reported. The death toll was 404 in the federal capital Islamabad and 101 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 182 in Balochistan, and 216 in Azad Kashmir.

According to the NCOC, the total number of covid cases in Islamabad is 37,117, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 57,215, in Sindh 210,241, in Punjab 135,665 and Balochistan, 8,172 people in Azad Kashmir and 4,850 people in Gilgit-Baltistan are among the victims of the global pandemic. It has been reported that the total number of people infected with the global covid in Pakistan has reached 471,335, out of which 422,132 patients have recovered across the country while 39,329 people are currently living in the country.
