South Africa’s former red-ball maestro Vernon Philander was recently taken on board by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.
Philander joined the men in green as the bowling consultant along with Matthew Hayden, who joined as the batting consultant for Pakistan.
The green shirts have produced vital and impressive results under the supervision of the above-mentioned duo and according to the latest developments; Philander is in contact with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding consultancy work.
In a recent interaction with IOL News, Vernon confirmed that the two parties are looking to finalize a way that works for both sides.
“There’s plenty happening at the moment, including talks around consultancy work with Pakistan. We’re trying to finalize a way that works for both parties. Because at the moment, traveling and being isolated and being in the hotel with bubble life, I just don’t think it is sustainable in the longer run. And I need to look after myself, especially since I have a young family. So I need to weigh up options and manage my time properly,” said Philander.
