The Karachi police have developed a security strategy for the three Twenty20s and three One-day Internationals between Pakistan and the West Indies, which will begin on December 13 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The strategy was created during a meeting on Thursday at the Sindh Boys Scouts Auditorium, which was presided over by Additional Inspector General Imran Yaqoob Minhas. Maqsood Ahmed, DIG Security, and Emergency Services Division, presented a briefing on the tour’s strict security precautions.
During the matches at National Stadium, routes, practice grounds, parking areas, hotels, and other areas, a total of 46 DSPs, including 13 senior officers of the Karachi police, 315 NGOs, 3,822 constables, and head constables, 50 women police personnel, 500 Rapid Response Force personnel, and 889 commandos of the Special Security Unit would perform security duties along with the Karachi traffic police, according to the report.
Special Branch personnel in civilian clothing will be stationed at the National Stadium and hotels. In the event of an emergency, a Special Weapons and Tactics squad would be ready to respond.
